5 Unique Berkshire Wedding Venues – Getting Married in Berkshire

The Retreat at Elcot Park has a really lovely range of spaces for your civil ceremony – from cosy rooms for just 6 guests, right up to a light-filled space that can seat up to 80. If the weather’s on our side, you can even say your vows outside, with the Wessex Downs as your backdrop – it’s hard to imagine a more romantic setting. There’s also the option to hire the whole place exclusively, which I’d recommend, having strangers wandering around can make the wedding day feel a little less special.

Once the ceremony is over, it’s time to celebrate! With a delicious wedding breakfast which I personally have not had a chance to try but I am told, is divine. I have tried the club sandwich, and I say no effort was spared in making the simpliest of meals.

There are loads of beautiful photo spots too – grand fireplaces, that sweeping staircase, and 16 acres of landscaped grounds. With 55 stylish bedrooms and suites, two restaurants, a spa, heated outdoor pool and even a wine cellar, it’s a place your guests won’t want to leave. I would thoroughly recommend some couple portraits by the pool!

And if you fancy a bit of pampering, there’s a hair and nail salon right on site – perfect for the morning-of! Their wedding team are extremly attentive and made my couples feel like royalty.

Standing proud in the heart of Reading, the Roseate Hotel is an historically elegant wedding venue, great for couples looking for a blend of luxury, intimacy, and character. Set within a beautifully restored Victorian townhouse, the hotel boasts photographic interiors—from marble staircases and luxury panelling to a chandelier-lit hallway where you can have your own pianist playing your favourite tunes and art-filled lounges. The architecture alone sets a romantic tone, ideal for timeless wedding portraits and a sophisticated atmosphere throughout the day.

The Roseate offers exclusive hire options in front of the hotel, are the award-winning landscaped gardens Forbury Gardens where I take my couples for their couple portraits.

Beautiful hotel, bistro and destination wedding venue on the Thames. Hotel du Vin has everything you need to stage your special day. Bags of character. Picturesque courtyard lit with fairy lights and food to satisfy the most delectable of palates and an exceptional wine list to boot. The accommodation is cozy and of course elegant. And exceptional service. Couples can book out the entire venue for a private celebration, or one of the 4 rooms. The rooms are tucked away and not accessible to other guests, so your wedding can feel private. The courtyward however will be accessible to other guests, so if you don’t want strangers in your photos, be aware. The venue is close to the train station and parking is limited.
